Sony Ericsson has announced the P1i which will Ericssons attempt to capture the business oriented individual in all of us. The Ericsson P1i will utilize the Symbian OS which is an operating system that will allow users to download applications to their phone, something individuals who are fed up with the Windows mobile OS may look forward to. The Ericsson P1i isn’t the prettiest phone by far but it does include some nifty features such as a business card scanner which will allow you to take a picture of a business card and then scan the information on the card for storage. Another nice little feature would be the handwriting recognition system which will allow for text input via stylus on the touch screen display. The P1i will also incorporate 3g and video calling which I predict will be huge in the near future.

Technical aspects of the phone include an expandable memory ( Memory Stick Micro (m2) ) up to 1gb, stereo bluetooth, 3.2 megapixel camera, and a touch screen LCD. Look for this phone to be released in Q3 of 2007 and check AccessoryGeeks.com for all accessories related to the Sony Ericsson P1i.

Sony Ericsson, in a bold move to increase their popularity, has announced that it will offer a slider phone in their future lineup. The S500i slider is very similar to the Lg Chocolate in the sense that it carries what looks to me as identical setups and layouts. The S500i will be about 14mm and will host features such as a 2.o megapixel camera that is also capable of capturing video. Another notable feature of the S500i is the ability to customize the phones theme and external lighting effect to change depending on what the user decides to set. This is a cool little feature because you can have certain themes during the day and when it becomes night a whole new side of the phone is displayed. The Ericson lineup has yet to change to the MicroSd side of the memory spectrum and will still utilize the Memory stick slot that is found on virtually all Sony Ericsson phones. We can only wait and see whether or not this phone will live up to expectations or if it’ll fall short due to the lack of innovation since the Chocolate has dominated the market since its release.
